Harlem Hebrew Language Academy Charter School |
Harlem Hebrew Language Academy Charter School (HHLACS) was granted a charter by the New York State Board of Regents and opened in the fall of 2013. HHLACS renovated and moved into the former St. Thomas School on St. Nicholas Avenue in Harlem. The current project consists of renovations to the existing 5-story structure and construction of a 21,000 SF addition on an adjacent vacant lot to the north of the existing building. The old and new buildings will be connected. Renovations will include a new central HVAC system, new fire sprinkler system, and minor renovations to existing spaces. As the existing building is currently in use, the renovation work needs to be phased to accommodate the school's break schedule and their target occupancy dates.
